post The new holiday, March 14

February 27th, 2008

Filed under: English — pesper @ 11:34 pm

You know the drill. Every 14th of February you get the chance to display your fondness for a significant other by showering her with gifts, flowers, dinner, shows and any other baubles that women find romantic. Every Valentines day you rack your brains for that one special, unique gift that will show your wife or girlfriend that you really do care for them more than any other. Now ladies, I’ll let you in on a little secret; guys really don’t enjoy this that much. Sure seeing that smile on your face when we get it right is priceless, but that smile is the result of weeks of blood, sweat and consideration. Another secret; guys feel left out. That’s right, there’s no special holiday for the ladies to show their appreciation for the men in their life. Men as a whole are either too proud or too embarrassed to admit it.

Which is why a new holiday has been created.

March 14th is now officially “Steak and Blowjob Day”. Simple, effective and self explanatory, this holiday has been created so you ladies finally have a day to show your man how much you care for him.

No cards, no flowers, no special nights on the town; the name of the holiday explains it all, just a steak and a BJ. Thats it. Finally, this twin pair of Valentine’s Day and Steak and Blowjob Day will usher in a new age of love as men everywhere try THAT much harder in February to ensure a memorable March 14th!

The word is already beginning to spread, but as with any new idea, it needs a little push to start the ball rolling. So spread the word, and help bring love and peace to this crazy world. And, of course, steak and BJ’s.

Remember. Steak. And blowjob. No flowers.

post Monterey and Laguna Seca… what a weekend!

July 30th, 2007

Filed under: English — marcus @ 8:35 am

Hello everyone!

Due to the lack of stable connection we haven’t really been able to use the site as much as we had hoped but guess what? As of today we are online and kicking with our brand new Cox Cable connection!

A lot of things has happened since my last blog but at least bertil kept you guys updated on our eventtrip to laguna seca by adding a brief little blog the night before we left!

So why not start there?

Laguna Seca, one of the most famous tracks when it comes to motorcycle racing! This is one of the tracks that you actually played on all them old videogames! It was really neat to get to see the track for real especially the famous “corkscrew” which has claimed many victims with it’s quick downhill left-right turn. Please check out the events section for some eye candy!

However from my part it wasn’t just the time spent at the track which was amazing but everything around it! Since all four of us have to do a longer cross country navigation including landing at at least three airports we managed to combine this into one superb weekend!!!

The adventure started at 0500hr, June 21st, when we got up and got all our stuff ready before we left for Gillespie (the airfield). At the school we made sure that our planes were fueled up on both gas and oil. We did our preflight (which is a check to see if the plane is fit for flight) and luckily everything seemed to be were it was supposed to. We joined up with Lars and Jonas, our teachers for the weekend, and briefed the flight before we finally started up the engins and started the 4.5hr flight up to Monterey.

The flight itself was spectacular! That I would be flying along the Californian coast, enjoying the view, seeing a group of dolphins bouncing of the glimmering pacific and seeing a big whale wasn’t really something that I had pictured myself doing when I first took the tests for the flight school back home in VästerÃ¥s four years ago… Trust me it was amazing!

The flight up went really well, no bigger problems at all and we landed safely sometime around 11 o’ clock after a beautiful approach with the racetrack on our right side, a valley below us and oceanside Monterey in front!

That this was the biggest annual happening in the city was something that we had to learn the hard way later when we tried to get hold of a room for the night… it took… well, quite a while :)

Anyway, the first day at the track was awesome! Lots of people, cloudless skies, crazy views, cold beer, all of it just made the atmosphere even better! Of course we all stood up to greet the american national anthem, besides Johan that is haha, and watching the low bypass of two F-18 Hornets which made the american patriots to cheer even more!

After a long day, without sun block………. we all took our shiny red bodies down to montereys harbour for some food and lodging. We ended up walking, for I don’t know how long…., to get hold of a two person bedroom with one king size bed for a reasonable price (thanks bertil for the nice negotiation with the indian boss there! haha). The fact that we were six and not two was something that we left unsaid :)

So when we finally managed to get hold of this room we just dropped of all our stuff and then started our adventure towards food. Trust me it really turned out to be an adventure… I do regret I didn’t bring my walking boots because it felt like we walked all the way to San Francisco before we finally found a place that seemed decent! The guide for the evening was Lars so maybe that’s why, who knows? ;) Included in this adventure was also some celebrity spotting in form of Fabio!!! The other guys just laughed at me when I came walking with a laughter and the worlds biggest smile saying “Guys you won’t believe me but guess who’s sitting at the resturant over there”

Bertil, as the papparazzi he really is, couldn’t leave before he made sure that he actually got a good picture of him. The picture ended up pretty good, including a flash which had everyone looking up at bertil and laughing after he snapped the shot. Eyecontact and a salute from Fabio… We basically laughed our arses of when Bertil came running with the camera!

Ahh Im drifting again… this is getting long so Im just gonna cut down on the story telling a bit here :)

Two more things about the evening though.

After one hour of waiting for a table we finally got one but the service at the place was terrible… food was quite okey I guess but we ended up leaving the place after basically beeing stressed oout of our chairs…

The taxi back home sure did wonders to our feet and we ended up splitting the double madrass bed into two beds sleeping three guys in each… no no no don’t start getting any ideas now…

To summarize the second day a bit shorter than the first; we hade a really nice breakfast at Hilton hotel, we watched the MotoGP and some other entertaining stuff out at the track, we got ourselves even more burned and we got to see them hornets one more time! We left the raceway at around 4pm, took a cab to the airport back to our small cessnas which by now was surrounded by private jets that were beeing prepared to get all the celebrities home. At departure we had at least four helicopters just transporting people from the track to the jets at the airfield…

The trip home was flewn by Martin and Johan since me and Bertil were the ones taking us up to Monterey. It all went well, we landed in Santa Barbara for some fuel and food before we made our way over a night-time Los Angeles. Johan, Bertil and Jonas ended up having some problems with one instrument so they flew directly home and made two approaches here in San Diego meanwhiles Martin, Lars and me took a stop at the airport “John Wayne” in the middle of LA. All three of us got scared as crap when a lowflying helicopter somehow ended up looking like a landing jumbo heading straight towards us. Other than that the flight went on really well… yeah besides that one and a half hour I spent in the  backseat ofthe  plane not beeing able to move becuase of all the beer and water from the track reeeaaally wanting to leave my body… (Bad english but whatever… ^^)

We landed back at Gillespie sometime around 12pm and decided to take the briefing at some other point since we were all kind of tired. So we took our cars back home and talked a bit about the adventure before we went to bed.

Now that’s everything I can think of at the moment. Now Im just wondering when Im gonna have time and stamina to blog about 4th of July and this weekends 20 year celebration of Madeleine…

I hope you are all doing fine back home or wherever you are!

Stay tuned for more updates and don’t forget to check out the pictures, or that you can comment the blogs or leave your mark in the guestbook!

Best Regards

FrontThe last week has been pretty busy, but not so much flying though. After the nice presentation of the house in El Cajon we decided to rent it. After some credit approvals and a lot of work to get money to the deposit, we finally moved in. First of all we had to get beds, so we went to IKEA San Diego in our Ford wagon. After deciding what beds we wanted a problem came up. How do we transport this four beds to our house…

IKEA’s home delivery service wasn’t able to transport them until monday, and this was on saturday so that wouldn’t work. We tried to buy a cheap Gazebo tent in the store next to IKEA just so we could use their delivery service but they were real bitchy about that, cause they understood why we wanted the truck ;)
Okay, so we are standing outside IKEA…. The clock is 10pm and the store closed one hour ago, the parking lot is pretty much empty. Hmm.
Lets do something here. It was now I got the bright idea to use the nice roof of our car. So we went to a store to get two heavy duty straps. We tied down one of the bedLiving room 2s on the roof without problem and went home. IKEA is about 20 min away from our home so it took about 3 hours to get all beds home but what the hell, it worked..
Living room
A couple of days later we went to IKEA again and bought some more furniture like kitchen table, sofas, some european style interior stuff and much more.Outdoor

So now we are almost set up for our moving-in-party. It’s gonna be crazy!
I just hope our white sofas will survive the night.

In general we havn’t been that much at the school. I did my first instrument flight today and the other guys are going to that tomorrow (saturday) and also on sunday. It’s a real busy airspace out there, no question about it. That makes it real fun.

I’ll post some pictures at the gallery.

Take care
Berra

Hi folks!
Hope your doing okay out there, cause we are doing great! Today was a day of many great things - “Pimpim Volcom Sjöberg” has begun to mature, Bertil has finally done a haircut and Johan - well, he is still Johan. So what have we done today? Well, to begin with Bertil has been flying a little (without the help of drugs this time) and he found out that we will have a mess to sort out up there. Everyone is flying everywhere, and almost everyone are from India so you could do the math on your own. We also managed to rent a house today, a real bargain with jacuzzi and a big stoorageroom for beer - which is actually all that we need. Jacuzi

Now to the funny stuff, I bought a car today for myself. Actually it´s the first car I have ever own, so I thought it would be good with a Cadillac for a starter. So know I am the proud owner of a Cadillac Coupe DeVille with a 4.5L V8 engine with pure American Muscles. Thankfully, the socialists are pretty few down here so the gas is pretty cheap - otherwise I would be ruined, and thats for sure.

Thats all for me today, now I have to prepare for the big Independence Day tomorrow - the big party that would make the Swedish 6th of june to look like a funeral.

Cheers!

post Kelly at the Insurance Palace

Yesterday when we bought our car we met Junior, a cool surfer guy from Brazil. He recommended us to get our car insurance at The Insurance Palace. The day after we went to this place and got our insurance….We later found out that Junior got a rebate to send us there but what the hell, we had the oppertunity to meet Kelly, an older guy who’s father had been a B-52 pilot. He showed us the coolest checklist ever, the B-52 Nuclear Bomb Delivery Procedure!!
He told us that he had his car full of these old checklists, and he was just laughing….

Kelly “Nuclear” Frost, A true American Hero haha!

Check it out……B52 checklist

Helloes everyone!

For those of you who haven’t heard from us since we left our cold and rainy homecountry here’s an update!

First of all, YES, we are doing fine… or not just fine but excellent I would say! The weather and the surroundings here are truly amazing and we are all trying to adapt to all the new things… the english talk is getting along but we sure need to get working on that thing called “floooow”.

The media section should be updated any time now with some pictures from the flights and our first days in the country so don’t forget to check it out!

Talking of the flights, Malaysian made a very good impression on us all with great service as free drinks and stuff. We also managed to skip much of the time using their mediabased system which allowed us to play old good classic games like Battleship (Sänka skepp) and Pong :) They also hade a nice collection of movies and tv-series that you could watch whenever you felt like.

Pong!

The New York visit was a bit short but we managed to see times square, central park and some other neat stuff before leaving. Of course we also timed our visit perfectly along with the local PRIDE-parade on 5th street hahaha!

Central Park PimpimCentral Park

Something I have to mention aswell was the totally failed check in on our jetblue flight to San Diego. All four of us ended up repacking our trunks in front of the check in box and approx. 100 other passengers. The repacking went kind of smooth however so after 15 mins of embarressment we were all set for our flight. The flight gave us some nice views during our departure, after 40 mins (of taxying and waiting) and 35 aircrafts taking of before us, and also some really neat views of a night-time san diego from above upon arrival.

We haven’t really seen that much of the US and all it’s weird and funny things but we have put a list together on our experiences so far

1. Indian people talk very funny!

2. The Americans seems to believe that you can fry anything…

3. Turning right even if you have a red light is apparently ok!

4. America is all about papers papers and more papers

5. Sunglasses is a must!

6. Bank system is 30 years behind Europe… checks for everything?

7. All cars are automatic

8. God bless Bud Light! (Available at the local 7-Eleven across the street of course)

9. Don’t buy a car from a sleezy looking mexican at 1030PM in a mexican area…

10. Indian people talk very funny!

And so on and so on…

So we have now spent a few days here in the US and a some of that time here in San Diego, or El Cajon wich this part of the town is actually called. We are currently in the market for a new place to stay but we actually managed to get hold of a really nice car today. We had to empty 1.5 ATM (”Cash withdrawal machine”) on cash before we could get hold of the money we needed for the car though haha! :)

Anyways we are now proud owners of the pink slip to a 1996 Ford Taurus, automatic of course………

Ford Taurus

Im gonna end this blog now since it is already way to long. Im truly impressed if anyone managed to keep their eyes open through all this text? :)

Come back soon for a new update!

We haven’t really been so active on the blogging part for a while now but believe me we have had other things to put our energy on!

Berra wrote a contribution with the MCC-blog a week ago so I won’t mention that so much more than state that he and Jesper was very lucky beeing able to get some time in two other simulators than the F28 which we actually flew :)

Me and Gustav was however the first of us to complete the MCC so I guess I can bully the others on that part haha!

Anyhow the clock is now almost 2000 and it’s midsummers eve here in sweden. Haha I bet 90% of the swedish citizens are beginning to feel slightly intoxicated by the lovely swedish beer and schnaps by now! I haven’t really managed to get that far on that part myself but I guess that is kind of good since this text would probably be a bit harder to read in that case ;)

We have approximate 21 hours to go before lift off from Arlanda airport and I think we are all having a slight sensation of confusion and anxiety about the trip. All papers are in order though and at least my bags are fully packed. Now I just pray to god that the zipper will manage to stay alive during the following 3 days :)

I guess this is it for now and I really look forward to posting the first real blogpost on the other side of the big ocean within a few days. Please use the guestbook or email if you want to reach us since we wont bring our swedish cellphones to San Diego (or? :) )

Stay cool and have a happy wet summer here in sweden? ;)

Over and out!

A330 SimulatorToday Jesper and I (Berra) flew our last simulator session in the Fokker 28 at SAS Flight Academy. We have been having five sessions, one each every day, flying for 4 hrs per session so it has been very intense actually. Starting at 0600 at Arlanda every morning makes us to get up 0400 and then go by car from Västerås. We have had a lot of problems outside the flying also. First of all, Jespers car broke down the first day so we had to borrow Gustavs car. It showed For landing, A330 Simulatorthat Jespers control-databox in his car had short-circuited because of some water drops :(
So we rented a Nissan Micra at OKQ8 for 229SEK á day. Actually a pretty nice car with AC, nice stereo, full of airbags etc…
On Wednesday the simulator broke down in the morning…..that’s too bad but we then got the opportunity to test some other simulators. First we had 20min each in the Airbus A330, a really nice simulator, 99,9% super realistic with full motion capacity. You could even simulate real smoke in the cockpit. Then we had 1h together in the Boeing 767. That was also cool, but flying the Airbus was the best. Flying with the joystick is 767 Simulatorreally impressive.
It is know exactly a week to our flight to New York and the States.
More info to come…

post Welcome to the blog!!

Short intro…

We are four enthusiastic Swedish guys who recently completed our flight training at the Scandinavian Aviation Academy in Västerås, Sweden. Our intention for the following two years is to work as flight instructors at the American department of the academy! This means we are leaving for San Diego, California, and we intend to do so on the 23d of June.

We only have around 3 weeks left here in Sweden at the moment and the time is passing by so much faster than we are experiencing it…

Anyway, this blog is supposed to keep our surrounding people updated on our progress towards our american flight certificates and flight instructor ratings but also act as a direct link into our future american lives :)

So what are we aiming for? Well… An American Dream I guess!!

P.S. We will try to keep this english blog as updated as we possibly can but if you understand swedish I suggest you visit the swedish blogg!
